Did You Know: Penguins

Penguins mate for life, even if the partner dies the penguin will never mate with another penguin.

The male father penguin looks after the egg while the female mother penguin goes hunting to supply the newborn when it hatches.

Penguins are one of the few species of bird that can not fly.

Some people like to refer to the Penguin as 'the bird who wears the tuxedo' because of their mostly black body with some white.

The Deep Sea Black Devil Anglerfish

The Deep Sea Anglerfish got it's common name, Black Devil, from its black colour, sharp fang like teeth and it's abilility to dwell over 3000 feet under the sea. The Black Devil Anglerfish has a natural antennae lure planted on top it's head which serves as bait to lure in cretures, when the sea creature is quite close so it is visible, the Black Devil then opens it's mouth so the prey swims right into it's mouth. The little light on it's head is caused by the use of the oxidation process called Luciferin, a light emitting bacteria which produces photophore.
